Description

Fun and spooky Mummy Dogs made with crescent dough and hot dogs — the perfect Halloween party snack for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Hot Dogs (8-10 pieces): All-beef or turkey hot dogs work, but avoid super thin ones.

Crescent Roll Dough (1 package): Classic crescent roll dough for a flaky texture.

Candy Eyeballs (or mustard, ketchup, sesame/poppy seeds): Used for the eyes.

Egg Wash: 1 beaten egg + 1 tbsp water for brushing.

Cooking spray or parchment paper: For prepping the baking sheet.

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or cooking spray.

2. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate at perforations. Slice into thin ¼-inch strips.

3. Wrap each hot dog with dough strips, leaving a gap near the top for the face.

4. Brush wrapped hot dogs lightly with egg wash.

5. Place on baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

6. After baking, gently press candy eyes into the exposed face area while warm. If using condiments, wait until slightly cooled.

Notes

For best results, stretch dough strips slightly as you wrap to create a more realistic mummy effect.

Do not add candy eyes before baking or they will melt.

Try using puff pastry or pizza dough for variation.

Serve with ketchup or mustard for dipping.
